I have been bullet journalling since 2017 and, today, I thought I would share my February bullet journal set up for 2019. I decided to go for a star bullet journal theme for this month.
I had intended to start sharing my bullet journalling at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately, I got sick with the cold and then the flu.
Which meant I had no energy to create the content I wanted to. However, not to be deterred, I’ve decided to make a start this month.
In this post, I will show you my bullet journal spreads for February. I also have a timelapse video for you if you prefer video content.
Materials Used
Below is a list of the materials I use for bullet journaling. Keep in mind I don’t use these exclusively for bullet journalling as I enjoy producing artwork too.
By all means, I encourage you to use whatever materials you have to hand. But, in case you are interested, this is what I have and used in my bullet journalling video:
- Leuchtturm Wanderlust A5 dotted notebook
- Jackson’s studio synthetic watercolour brush size 10 ( I have this set and adore it)
- Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolour half pans
- Arteza real brush pens
- Crayola supertips pens
- Pigma Micron fineliners
- Uni POSCS white pen
February Bullet Journal Cover page

I had a double-spread for my February cover page. On the left, I decided to write a quote.
I chose, “keep your eyes on the stars and your feet on the ground”, as I liked it and it seemed very fitting for this month’s theme.
On the right, I have written the month and surrounded this with a watercolour design. I put down a mix of different blue and purple paints and then blew the paint to create this “splashed” effect.
I then got a flat brush and flicked purple and blue watercolours onto the page to create a star effect. You can easily achieve this with an old toothbrush.
Once the paint had dried, I used my white pen to add star details to the design.
February Monthly Overview

For my February monthly overview spread, I went for a full calendar layout. This was the first time I have done this as usually I opt for a simple list view.
However, I really like it and I think it makes it easier to see an overview of the whole month. I used rounded boxes to create the calendar and these were 5×5.
I also have a box for my monthly goals, events and birthdays. I like to have birthdays and events separate in addition to being added within the calendar so that I can easily remind myself of them.
I freehand these boxes as I am not fussed about how perfect they turn out. I am definitely not precious about my bullet journal and don’t worry about making mistakes (else I’d never use it!).
I finished this spread by adding some colour, star doodles and drop shadows.
February Health Trackers
![]()
This month, I have decided I want to track my steps. I use a Fitbit Charge 2 HR to track my activity but I’d like to now add this information to my journal.
I hope to bring my awareness towards any possible correlation between how much I do and my health.
I have drawn a simple bar chart with the days on the month along the x-axis and the number of steps up the y-axis.
I have no idea why I decided to go up to 20k steps! 10k would be a very good day and I’ve not been seeing too many of those recently as I recover from all the winter bugs I’ve been unfortunate enough to pick up.
I guess I was worried in case there happened to be one outlier! Which is silly as I think the only time I have ever hit 20k was when I visited Disneyland and that’s not exactly a regular occurrence, haha.
Individual habit Trackers
On the right-hand page, I have drawn individual habit trackers. These are quite tedious to set up as you have to write the days of the month for each one.
However, I do like how they look and enjoy using them. I simply use my Crayola pen to fill in the days I happen to complete each habit.
Income & Expenses Tracker
Under the habit trackers, I have a table for tracking my blog income and expenses. I obviously have an accounts spreadsheet for this but I also like to keep a note of things in my bullet journal.
I have columns for the date, description, amount and a running monthly total.
February bullet Journal Weekly Spreads

I like to keep my weekly spreads as minimal as possible. This month, I have created rounded boxes for each day of the week and for my to-dos and any notes.
I like to keep the space for my to-dos small as I only set around 3 “must dos” for each week. As my health can still vary from week-to-week, I don’t like to put too much pressure on myself or stress myself out with a huge list of to-dos.
In the notes section, I basically just jot down stuff that I may need to look back through my journal to locate. For example, I may quickly write down any bothersome symptoms or take a note of what date I did something important.
February Highlights

The last page in my February bullet journal set up is my highlights page. Here, I titled the page and added some doodle but left the rest blank.
As the month progresses, I use this area to jot down any memories or things I enjoyed/that made me happy. It’s a great exercise to do and I love reflecting back on my year and seeing everything I got up to.
So, that’s it for my February 2019 bullet journal set up. I hope you have enjoyed seeing it and I encourage you to use the star theme if you are stuck for ideas.
