Today, I want to discuss mindfulness and meditation for Fibromyalgia (and other chronic illnesses). I’ll be sharing the definitions and benefits of mindfulness and meditation. Plus, I’ll describe how to easily incorporate both of these practices into your everyday life.

Cannabidiol oil (CBD oil) derived from industrial hemp is increasing in popularity and becoming more readily available. Full spectrum CBD oil stimulates the body’s endocannabinoid system and may offer relief from symptoms such as chronic pain, anxiety and disruptive sleep.

Sleep is something that most of us living with chronic illness will struggle with at times. After all, poor quality, disruptive sleep is a core symptom of illnesses such as Fibromyalgia, Lyme Disease and ME/CFS. Which is frustrating because consistently getting a good night’s sleep is one of the most important factors in improving our symptoms. […]

A few weeks ago, I was at the opticians for an eye exam and I was asked about my health history. I always find this a little challenging as I don’t like talking about my Lyme Disease diagnosis. Mostly because I still find it upsetting to think about (given that I became so sick).

One of the biggest difficulties that we face living with chronic illness is that our health can be unpredictable. Though I’ve seen better days and improvements with my health this year, I’ve also gone through long periods of feeling exhausted, flu-like and just downright awful. And, at times, it has really gotten me down. It […]

Having a chronic illness is a tough gig. There are days when the constant pain and fatigue (not to even mention the other symptoms) will get us down. It’s important to express our emotions and it’s totally understandable that we will have days where we are filled with sadness. We are only human after all. However, […]

If you suffer from a chronic illness– especially if it is an invisible illness such as ME/CFS or fibromyalgia– you will no doubt find that some people will offer you advice on how you can improve your situation. The majority of the time this advice comes from people who mean well. After all, the […]

Success is something that holds a different meaning for each of us. Since falling ill, I’ve learned to become more mindful about how I view success. Its definition has had to change for me. For too long I saw myself as a failure because I couldn’t do the things I was previously able to do. […]
