For my August bullet journal set up, I decided to do something a little different. I opted to print out one of my paintings to use as my cover page.
I think this might be my favourite spread yet! And, I think it will change how I set up my bullet journal going forward.
If you’d like to see my August bullet journal set up, keep reading. If you like the seascape I used in my journal, it is available as an art print in my Etsy shop.

August Bullet Journal Monthly Spread

I was feeling a little uninspired as to what to draw for my cover page for August. Then, when I was working on my Etsy shop I had an idea.
I decided that one of my paintings would make a great cover image.
I printed it off using my office printer on regular inkjet paper (rather than as a fine art print that I sell in my shop). And, I glued it onto the left-hand page on a double-spread.
I then added the title ‘August’ using my Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen (hard) towards the centre top of the image. Towards the bottom centre, I added a calendar using my white Sakura Gelly Roll pen.
On the right-hand page, I created boxes for important dates, birthdays, goals and for blog ideas and to-dos. These are sized differently to give me the space I need for each.
For the box titles, I printed off my seascape again and cut out small rectangles from the sky. I glued these down and wrote the titles on them using my Pigma micron fine line pen (No. 05).
I titled everything else in my August bullet journal this way too.
August Bullet Journal Gratitude & Highlights page

This double-page spread has become a firm favourite of mine and it is so simple to do.
On the left side is my gratitude page where I write one line a day of gratitude. On the right is blank space for me to write down memories and highlights for August.
I have outlined the pages using my Pigma micron fine line pen (No. 02) and titled them using the watercolour print out.
August Bullet Journal Weekly Spread

I have kept the same weekly set up as last month. It is super simple and minimalistic.
I use one-page per week and split each page into two by drawing a line down the page 10 boxes in.
At the top-left of the page, I have a monthly calendar overview and highlight the week the spread correlates with.
Underneath this is space to write down to-dos and notes.
I have split the right-hand section of the page into 7 for each day of the week. Weekdays have 5 boxes worth of space to write in and weekend days have 3.
Again, all the titles have been created from cut-outs of my watercolour painting.
And, that’s it! I’d love to know what you think of my August bullet journal set up.

Beautiful BuJo! I need to get back into bullet journaling so badly. I did most of last year and then stopped during a difficult time with migraines.
I may set up August and see how it goes.
I love how simple your setup is. Great post.

Thank you, Elizabeth! I find bullet journalling so helpful for keeping me organised. I can imagine it would be difficult to keep up with when you are experiencing migraines 🙁 I hope you are able to get back into it. I’ve really pared mine down to the basics and it really helps me to keep up with it.
Can you do mine for me??? Haha, it’s gorgeous!
Haha, thank you! I am thinking that Bullet journal printables may be something I consider for the future 😀
