We are headed towards the end of June, which means it is time for me to share my July 2019 bullet journal set up. I’ve opted to keep things super simple this month with easy doodles and spreads that can be quickly drawn.
Before I start, here is a quick list of the materials I use to set up my bullet journal:
Bullet Journal Supplies
- Leuchtturm A5 dotted notebook
- Arteza watercolour real brush pens
- Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen (hard)
- Pigma micron fine line pen (No. 02)
- Pigma micron fine line pen (No. 08)
- Pentel mechanical pencil
- Eraser
July Bullet Journal Set Up: Monthly Spread

In previous months, I have drawn a quote and title page to signal the start of a new month. The spread that follows this is then my monthly overview.
Keeping everything simple and minimal was the theme for July. I, therefore, added some details to my title and quote pages to essentially turn them into my July overview spread.
July Quote Page
On the left-hand page, I wrote a quote by H.J Anderson that reads, “you don’t need to heal fully in order to live fully“. This has been my motto recently so it felt fitting to write it in my journal.
Underneath this I have given myself space to write down intentions and blog post ideas (with a terrible doodle of a laptop to boot, haha. I did this far too rushed).
July Bullet Journal Title Page
On the right-hand side I have the title page for July. I have hand lettered July using a Tombow Fudenosuke brush pen (hard).
Sprouting up and through the title word are three flowers doodled using a No.08 Pigma micron fine line pen.
These have been coloured in using yellow and orange Arteza watercolour real brush pens. I opted to use these colours throughout my pages for July.
These flowers are made up from an image in my mind. I think they look like a combination of a sunflower and a gerbera.
First, I drew an oval shape for the centre of the flower and then drew petals that have a pointed end. Next, I filled in the gaps between the petals by drawing in some smaller ones.
Underneath this doodle I have drawn a small calendar, below which there is space to write down important dates and birthdays.
July Gratitude & Highlights Pages

As always, I have included two simple spreads to record my monthly highlights and one-line-per-day of gratitude.
On the left-hand side is my gratitude page. It is simply titled with the numbers 1-31 listed down the left of the page.
The right-hand page is titled “Highlights” and left blank for me to note down my memories from the month.
In the middle of the page, is another flower doodle; the same as the title page.
July Bullet Journal Weekly Spreads

I have gone back to a single page per week set up for my weekly spreads. I did something similar back in May (but with a dutch door).
For my July weekly, I have a column down the left side of the page that is 9 boxes wide. There is a small calendar at the top of this column with the week highlighted.
Under this, there is space to write down to-dos and notes. At the bottom of this page I have quickly doodled a flower.
I have then separated the rest of the page into 7 boxes; one for each day of the week. And, that’s it!
July Income & Expenses

My final July bullet journal spread is for my business income and expenses.
I explained last month that I changed from writing “blog” to “business“income and expenses due to my Etsy shop opening. My brain clearly forgot to do this again for July- oops!
In any case, I have left the final page for this month as a blank space for me to record this information for July. I, of course, have a proper accounts spreadsheet but I also like to note this info down in my journal too.
I doodled a flower on this page too, in keeping with the little theme I created for my July bullet journal set up.
