Having chronic illness is undoubtedly hard and I often wonder what life would be like if I wasn’t ill. However, I firmly believe that everything in life happens for a reason. Sometimes you don’t know what that reason is until a long way down the road. What you need to remember is that out of every dark situation there will always be positives to find. My health has been at it’s worst for these past few months. It has been challenging, at times upsetting, and without a doubt frustrating. I have been amazed at my ability to keep upbeat and stay positive and I know exactly who I have to thank for that. My family and friends have been really understanding and I am so thankful to them for all the support they have given me. Some of them probably without even realising it. Through being ill, I have also met some wonderful and amazing people online. Again, they have been there when I needed them and it has been great to speak to people that are going through the exact same thing as I am.
The photo above is of my Secret Santa present that I received from the amazing Holly. Taking part in this has been so fun! The gifts I was sent were all really well thought out and I was so happy to receive them. A doggy hot water bottle (heat is my best friend!), bath confetti (I have a bath every day to help with the pain), beautiful kirby grips (I love hair accessories) and purple, sparkly mittens (love these, they are so cosy!). I know I should have waited until Christmas but excitement got the better of me!! It has given me a real boost and I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year. If you are looking to join a support group then why not pop over to Facebook and join in with Butterflies & Hurricanes, a private group for women who want to live well and kick-ass despite the challenges faced living with chronic illness.
Remember, every cloud has a silver lining.
